**Job Overview**

A proofer is a person responsible for the last step of Quality Assurance process, who ensures that the translated document follows linguistic and non-linguistic preferences of the client and internal AP standards. Proofer follows resources related to layout proofing and customer specific style guides.

Work closely with the Operations team and the in-house DTP team, in order to support efficient workflow and ensure quality of the final product.

Provide concise feedback to formatters, translators and external proofers on project-basis.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Compare foreign language documents against original documents for consistency, completeness, and correctness.
- Completeness: All text and graphics are contained in the translation.
- Consistency: Repeated visual elements such as headers and subheads are formatted consistently with the original document and throughout different translation languages.
- Correctness: Layout, colors, graphics, font styles, text enhancements, names, phone numbers, and quantities match the original document.
- Ensure correct formatting of target file in comparison to the original:

- Mark any possible errors and provide concise feedback to formatters and/or translators using commenting tools.
- Correct carefully any possible layout error or inconsistency when working on MS Office files.
- Help the PMs and PCs in preprocess of the documents.
- Perform evaluation of graphic design work quality following the DQA process.

**Skills and Qualifications**
- Keen eye and fastidious attention to detail.
- Commitment to quality.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to effectively use internal reference materials and stylistic guidelines.
- Ability to follow complex instructions.
- Sound judgment in case of difficult layout and linguistic choices.
- Good communication and writing skills in English.
- Second language is a plus.
- Thrives under pressure and in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and assignments.
- Effective team player.
