PURPOSE
Perform multiple general ledger-related activities to include analyzing financial statements and balance sheets, preparing GL account reconciliations, monthly close and financial reporting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead Mexico based accounting teams that are responsible for the accounting at both Mexico en-tities and certain areas supporting the US accounting teams, including conducting activities as-sociated with coaching and training.
- Manage month-end close activities for the entire set of Mexico financials and areas supporting the US accounting close, including preparation or review of journal entries, reconciliations, and other duties as necessary.
- Determine whether discrepancies exist and recommend actions to resolve them.
- Analyze and review business drivers of balance sheet and income statement variances.
- Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
- Act as a resource for team members.
- Lead special projects including those related to implementations of new systems (Oracle pre-ferred) and guidance.
- Support integration with the US accounting teams.
- Operate as a project manager for the external audit, including fulfilling request as necessary
- Ensure accounting for various areas is performed in accordance with US GAAP and Mexico tax and regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for hiring and retaining competent accounting staff.
- Work with external consultants to ensure the company follows Mexico tax and regulatory re-quirements.
- Work collaboratively with others within and outside of his or her function to achieve goals, sim-plify processes, reduce costs, prevent loss, and to ensure that accurate and timely work is com-pleted.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- U.S. GAAP and accounting processes, ASC 606 and/or IFRS 15 experience preferred.
- Mexico regulatory requirements.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5+ years’ experience in Accounting or related field.
