**Position Title**: Accounting Specialist

**Department**: Finance

**Entity**: EG Latam

**Location**: Mexico City, Mexico

**Reports To**: Accounting Manager

**Responsibilities**
- Support the Finance & Accounting Manager LATAM in financial activities, accounting review, reconciliations, data analysis, adjustments and all the task related to keep an accurate accounting record.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather necessary financial data and documentation for any necessary inquire (financial statements audit, transfer prices studies, tax calculation, tax compliance and requirements for business purposes).
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local GAAP´s (NIF), IFRS and USGAAP´s.
- Provide guidance and training to finance and accounting staff on tax and accounting matters (if necessary).
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements that may impact the organization.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns for the LATAM region, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations and deadlines, and assure that all is aligned with accounting.
- Conduct tax research and analysis to support tax planning initiatives and identify opportunities for tax optimization.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Public Accountant certification required.
- Proficiency in tax calculations, accounting principles, and financial reporting standards.
- Familiarity with IFRS and USGAAP is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
- Fluency in English (intermediate mandatory), Portuguese (plus).
