The role will be based Mexico City. Client Tax Reporting (CTR) and Business Regulatory Risk Manager sits within Wholesale Business Risk pilar and spans Mexico and Latin America.
For CTR, the position will support all Client Tax Reporting activities covering both The Common Reporting Standard (CRS) and the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) ensuring Wholesale is compliant with the regulations. This will involve the end to process of classifying customers and subsequently where necessary reporting them to the relevant tax authorities. The ideal person will require the ability to offer complimentary support to ensure the team meets reporting and improvement.
For Business Regulatory Risk, the role will handle Control of Information controls to mitigate Market Conduct Risk for wholesale population, role will also be a focal point and coordinator for regulatory visits impacting Wholesale banking.
The role holder will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure that the required business outcomes are met and regulatory disciplines are adhered to.
- Be a focal point for Wholesale areas regarding Control of Information policy, mainly covering Information Registers (GIRS); Transaction Clearance Requests; Joiners, Movers and Leavers; Conflicts of Interests and e-comms process.
- Supporting the Client Tax Reporting team to deliver the Wholesale tax reports accurately and on schedule.
- Effective liaison with Regulatory Affairs and Wholesale areas to comply with new regulatory requirements and regulatory visits/reviews, ensuring that internal and external regulatory deadlines are met.
- Deliver step change in operational performance through identification and successful implementation of global and local initiatives.
- Identifying and escalating issues appropriately, to minimise potential risks to the business and any reporting activities.
- Maintain a clear inventory of all tax reporting related activities for audit purposes.
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with peer groups.
Requirements

- Experience of using relevant software packages, i.e. MS Office with strong experience of Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Pivot Tables and Databases.
Preferable Requirements for role:
- Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Wholesale Banking, Corporate Banking, Financial Institutions, Compliance, or Tax.
- Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Project management or business support
- Experience in process reengineering designing better outcomes for our customer and the business.
- Experience of personally complying with business process, rules and regulations.
