Staff Accountant

**Reports to**:Grower Accounting Manager with parallel reporting to the Financial Controller.

**Position Summary**: The Staff Accountant maintains accurate financial records, monitors grower accounts, and ensures a precise accounting of hard goods inventories. This position requires strong organizational and analytical skills and use of the company’s existing ERP and systems. The role also involves close coordination with growers, internal departments, and suppliers to ensure accurate financial reporting, timely processing of monetary requests, and compliance with company policies.

This position is best suited for a professional with a degree in Accounting, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while contributing as a collaborative team member. A high degree of professionalism, discretion in handling sensitive information, and willingness to cross-train with other team members are essential.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Accounting and Finance**
- Maintain accurate accounting records for assigned growers, including costs, payments, advances, pick and pack charges, and other agro-inputs.
- Process grower liquidations (preliminary and final), ensuring timeliness and compliance with terms.
- Track and reconcile packaging and hard goods inventory, coordinating with suppliers, operations, and internal stakeholders.
- Perform purchase order and invoice matching, process credit memos, and investigate discrepancies.
- Monitor exchange rates and ensure correct posting of monetary requests and transfers.
- Prepare and maintain electronic financial records and support audits as required.
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports, providing data accuracy and timely information for decision-making.
- Support Controller and Grower Accounting Manager with financial analysis, special projects, and ad-hoc requests.
- Cross-train and provide backup for other accounting functions to ensure continuity of operations.

- Remain diligent in communication and integration efforts with the Ciruli Brothers team.

**Qualifications**
- **Education & Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems (Famous, Contpaq) and financial reporting tools.
- Prior exposure to grower relations, accounting coordination, or inventory management a plus.

- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
- High degree of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling sensitive information.
- Team player with the ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and adapt to seasonal workload fluctuations.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for work, meetings, or training.
- **Technology**
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (Famous, Contpaq).
- Working knowledge of BI/reporting tools
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Familiarity with electronic filing systems and digital workflows.
- Comfortable learning and adopting new company tools and platforms.
- Adept at using various productivity and video-conferencing apps (e.g., Ring Central, Zoom, Teams)
- **Physical Demands**
- Ability to work full-time on-site, with some flexibility for pre-approved remote work.
- Occasional travel required to packinghouses or grower locations.
- Able to sit for extended periods to complete accounting tasks.
- Availability to work some Saturdays
