The Financial Reporting Staff Accountant position will report to the Financial Reporting Manager. Responsibilities include preparing supporting schedules needed for financial reporting (internal and external) and month-end close, preparing and maintaining memorandums on various technical accounting matters, assisting with the auditor requests, and other ad hoc requests as assigned.

To be successful in this role, the Financial Reporting Staff Accountant should prepare high-quality work within our reporting deadlines. The Financial Reporting Staff Accountant should also be organized and be proactive with a willingness to learn about the different areas of the business and foster relationships with the team and other departments.

**Position tasks / Responsibilities**:

- Assist with the preparation of annual and quarterly financial statements, footnote disclosures and memos.
- Prepare monthly internal key reports that are distributed to executives.
- Prepare certain journal entries and supporting schedules that are needed for month-end close.
- Assist with the preparation of various items needed for the annual audit. This includes the preparation and compilation of supporting schedules and reports needed for sample selections.
- Interact with local auditors when needed regarding information/documentation requirements.
- Keep current on new accounting pronouncements and its impact to the company.
- Ad hoc projects and assignments as allocated by the Financial Reporting Manager.
- Participate in the implementation of process improvements and automation initiatives.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree focused in accounting or a related field.
- 2+ years of accounting experience
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
- Proficient in English - both written and spoken
- Solid understanding of relationship of all financial statements
- Highly organized and detail oriented. Ability to be flexible to a changing environment, acknowledging urgency when necessary
- Analytical mindset

**Desirable Requirements**: (Not Mandatory)
- Prior experience working for a publicly listed company
- Knowledge of US GAAP and MX standards
- Entrepreneurial spirit
- Accounting ERP experience (SAP, etc.)
