1. SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Assist in all activities related to the procurement of materials. Monitor pricing, delivery, and quality metrics from all suppliers to ensure Divisional targets are met.

2. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION(S):
DESCRIPTION % OF TIME
1. Directly supervises the daily activities of the material planners and purchasing assistants within the Purchasing Department.

2. Responsible for hiring, training, performance appraisals, and pay increases for all hourly personnel within the Purchasing Department.

3. Review all purchasing requisitions for accuracy and place purchase orders with our vendors.

4. Responsible to negotiate pricing with vendors and look for lower cost suppliers.

5. Work with raw materials planners and vendors to ensure inventory levels meet Divisional targets.

6. Oversees and coordinates the completion of various Purchasing projects.

7. Makes recommendations regarding methods, workplace improvements, changes in procedures, equipment modifications, and the purchase of additional tools, supplies, and equipment.

3. OTHER SPECIFIC DUTIES:

1. Work with Quality and Engineering to qualify new vendors.

2. Work with vendors in a timely manner to resolve rejected materials and corrective action requests.

3. Responsible for conducting Monthly Line meetings.

4. EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Number of years of study and specifically the type of training and experience.
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Experience: Up to one year’s experience in a Procurement would be desirable
Basic Training: Induction
5. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, Outlook, Mainframe systems and SAP a plus.

6. LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY AND DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY: specify the number of employees under your charge, budget and supervision responsibilities, sales volume, etc.
1. Responsible for assigning work and monitoring the performances of assigned individuals for the procurement of sophisticated electronic components.
2. Ability to build and maintain a professional working relationship with those employees supervised and with the various Corporate departments with which the Supervisor works.
3. Full supervisory authority over employees working in a variety of Purchasing positions.

7. PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT AND REQUIRED SAFETY EQUIPMENT: Be specific
1. May be required to work night shift or weekend hours as necessary to meet the job responsibilities.
2. Generally good conditions, occasional exposure to less than desirable elements or conditions.
