Avp - Finance Planning & Stress Testing

Mexico Finance Control team is responsible for reporting commitments to the Mexican Banking & Securities Commission, the Mexican Central Bank, the Mexican Ministry of Finance, and the Mexican equivalent to the US FDIC (IPAB). Barclays Mexico has different legal entities which are regulated.

Overall purpose of role

As an AVP in the Finance team, the major functions of the job are:

- With the supervision of the VP in charge of Capital and Liquidity reporting, the AVP will take over the Finance Planning & Stress testing activities such as:

- Planning and Execution of the overall Capital and Liquidity Stress testing exercise for Barclays Mexico from a FP&ST stand point, liaising with Risk, Finance and Treasury in order to achieve the completion of the annual stress test process.
- Prepare the Middle Term Plan (annual budget) for Barclays Mexico, including monthly and ad-hoc reports of budget/MTP performance vs actuals.
- Financial performance reports for different audiences and stakeholders such as Risk Committee, Mexico Management, Americas Financial Committee, and other relevant fora.
- Analytical review of Barclays Mexico financials, ensuring the reasonableness of the financial figures reported to Senior Management.
- Understanding the regulatory submissions related to Capital Ratio (ICAP), FX Position and Foreign Currency positions (ACLME), Liquidity Coverage Ratio, and Concentration Limits in order to act as back up for these type of activities within the Capital and Liquidity team.
- Escalating to the VP in charge of Capital and Liquidity reporting and to the CFO any incidents and being able to take adequate decisions on how specific transactions or financial information should be reported.
- Reviewing current processes and controls with the aim of streamlining them by leveraging off recent and future IT developments.
- Support Local Product Control team on daily / monthly and quarterly activities such as:

- Local vs Corporate derivative valuation comparisons
- Prepare weekly presentation to the Senior Management and Country Manager to communicate P&L analysis Key Accountabilities
- Liaising with Risk, Financial Control and Treasury for the processes related to capital risk and liquidity risk.
- Ensuring capital and liquidity reports, as well as financial reports are properly prepared and are consistent with the accounting records and that properly follow the methodology in place.
- Dealing with ad hoc queries from management, regulators, Barclays Group and financial reporting units.
- Ad hoc projects, such as reporting and process reviews and systems development.

Stakeholder Management and Leadership
- Interact with Head of Risk, Treasurer, Legal Entity Controller and Mexico CFO.
- Interact closely with Risk, Treasury, Financial Control and Product Control teams on BAU activities.
- Mange work relationship with other infrastructure team such as Risk, Treasury, Financial Control, Product Control, Operations and IT, in order to obtain data used for FP&ST matters.

Decision-making and Problem Solving
- Evaluative judgement and analytical skills are required to solve day to day and routinely activities with the support of the Head of Capital and Liquidity reporting in Mexico for decision making activities such as Capital and Liquidity Stress testing, impact on MTP and Financial Reports issued.- Risk and Control Objective
- Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.

Person Specification
- Expertise and clear understanding of Mexican regulatory requirements, specifically Capital and Liquidity Stress testing.
- Experienced finance professional with excellent communication skills and a driving ambition to succeed.
- Confident, adaptable and possess initiative. Results oriented, organized and efficient.
