Value Stream Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Along with those identified below, other duties may be assigned.
- Lead the cross functional team to identify and focus on the critical few to drive success for our customers.
- Hire and assess performance of new hires and ensure proper operator training is administered.
- Supervise direct labor associates in a multiple shift manufacturing environment. Hold associates accountable to the work rules and policies, while also providing feedback to the associates.
- Instill sense of urgency with the team around meeting SQDC expectations.
- In conjunction with Portescap West Chester site, execute on daily, weekly, and monthly build plans to meet or exceed on-time delivery and past due expectations.
- Evaluate demand, production plans, and resource plans to determine if countermeasures (overtime, staff re-deployment) will be required to meet customer request dates.
- Perform Root Cause Counter Measures (RCCM) analysis with your team for issues that prohibit meeting key performance indicators (SQDC).
- Report on-time delivery (OTD), Past Due, yield and other KPI’s and follow up with Root Cause Countermeasure (RCCM) for misses or recovery plans to get back on track month to date (MTD).
- Own and utilize visual management via the SQDC and build planning boards.
- Assign daily work and productivity expectations to associates.
- Maintain a staff of motivated salaried individuals and hourly associates. Frequently review performance with the team.
- Drive cross-training initiatives and manage the cross-training matrix for your Value Stream.
- Embrace the culture of continuous improvement.
- Act as a manufacturing liaison for the engineering change order (ECO) process, identifying and resolving requests that may affect quality, cost, or delivery for products run in the cell.
- Responsible for leading quality system procedures for your Value Stream.
- Willingness to work extended hours to support second shift or weekend product build on an as needed basis.
COMPETENCIES:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Master’s in Business Administration preferred
- 3-4 years of management/supervisory experience
- Experience in Quality Management System preferred
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience is desired
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Applicant must have a United States of America (USA) Visa
- Willing to travel up to 40%, including internationally
