Client: Our client is a leading global cruise company renowned for delivering exceptional vacation experiences.
- Position overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior / Lead QA Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for leading quality assurance initiatives, managing a team of QA Engineers, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products that meet business and technical requirements. This is an exciting opportunity to drive QA processes within an Agile environment and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.
- This position requires full overlap with the client’s working hours: 9 am to 6 pm EST.
- Responsibilities: Establish and maintain quality assurance processes aligned with business objectives and technical requirements.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to enhance QA efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of 2-5 QA Engineers, fostering professional growth.
- Develop comprehensive testing artifacts, including test cases, scripts, conditions, and expected results.
- Execute diverse testing types: Functional, System, Integration, Regression, and API testing.
- Analyze test results meticulously to ensure software quality and identify improvement areas.
- Manage defect tracking, documentation, and facilitate timely resolution through effective communication with stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with development teams and product owners to resolve issues and ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Provide training and share best practices in testing methodologies and QA tools to promote continuous learning.
- Ensure deliverables strictly adhere to functional and design specifications as per QA standards.
- Participate actively in planning meetings, daily stand-ups, and demos to align QA efforts with project goals.
- Utilize tools including Jira, Confluence, SQL, XML/JSON, and Splunk logs for data analysis, reporting, and troubleshooting.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management, demonstrating adaptability.
- Requirements: Minimum 2 years as a QA Lead managing teams of 3-5 QA Engineers.
- Proven expertise in establishing and optimizing QA processes and reporting.
- At least 7 years of direct experience in Software Quality Assurance including planning, execution, and reporting.
- Strong background in prioritizing QA tasks in alignment with project needs.
- Proficient in Agile methodologies with hands-on experience in Agile projects.
- Skilled in defect tracking and version control tools such as Jira and GitHub.
- Advanced SQL querying skills for thorough database testing.
- Experience with data formats (XML/JSON) and log analysis using Splunk or similar tools.
- Demonstrated leadership, accountability, and ownership in managing QA activities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and stakeholder collaboration.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Deep understanding of software testing techniques, QA methodologies, and processes.
- Proficient in Behavior Driven Development (BDD) methodologies.
- Analytical mindset with solid problem-solving skills to identify root causes and drive improvements.
