Sr. Data Engineer

The Sr. Data Engineer must identify high-level functional and technical requirements based on interactions with the final user and knowledge of enterprise data warehouse architecture. Work in the development of ETL and Dashboards.
**Necessary Duties and Responsibilities include the following**:
- Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
- Build the architecture required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL, Dataiku, Python and AWS big data technologies.
- Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics.
- Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
- Keep Company data separated and secure across national boundaries through multiple data centers and AWS regions.
- Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.
- Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
- Works across teams to ensure IT system deployments are implemented with mínimal impact to production operation.
- Lead activities required to support project milestones and scheduled release dates.
- Works with third party vendors to understand their technology roadmaps.
- Defines requirements by analyzing business processes and designs & constructs solutions by analyzing of business processes and requirements.
- Coordinate business impact analysis for all releases executed by IT.
- The confidence to express ideas as part of a creative team.
**Relationships and Roles**:
- This position reports to Data Engineer Manager of Data and Analytics.
- Coordinate and provide support to functions across the Company.
**Job Specifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in IT Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a Data Engineer working with SAP Business Intelligence or related work experience.
- Deep experience in SAP ECC, S4/HANA, SAP BI Extractors, ETL process and Delta Management.
- SAP ABAP experience coding on transformation and extractors.
- Experience with AWS/Google cloud services: EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift/Big Query, Google Cloud Platform.
- Fully Bilingual English - Spanish.
- Experience in analyzing data to draw business-relevant conclusions and in data visualization techniques and tools.
- Excellent understanding of Datawarehouse development frameworks and best practices.
- Prior experience interviewing end-users for insight on functionality, interface, problems, and usability issues.
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
- Experience with AWS lambda is a plus.
