Overview:
Ellucian is seeking a talented Lead Software Engineer looking to contribute to a collaborative, foundational, SaaS-based, Agile team. We are looking for a motivated lead with strong development skills in multiple programming languages such as Java, and C# in Oracle and Postgres to support the delivery of world-class, customer-focused solutions with a continuous delivery cycle as part of a leading cloud software company for higher education. You will actively participate in the design, development and delivery of new solutions for the next generation of Higher Education products.

- As a member of a creative and agile development team, design, develop, and test high quality solutions without compromising quality, time and customer expectations.
- Solve functional and performance issues, design solutions, research, exercise proof of concept and perform impact analysis
- Ability to work in a fast-paced delivery-focused challenging environment.
- Engaging with the team in software requirements, designs, and reviews.
- Set direction for our development practices and provide technical guidance to developers.
- Engage in continuous learning and adoption of new concepts, technologies, and functionality.
- Demonstrate ownership from requirements to final testing.
- Ability to work independently, as well as on teams, in an agile, global environment.
- Involved in high-level Estimation and detailed estimation of roadmap tasks and other Initiatives.
- Ability to create technical user stories to define and describe needed tasks and to translate functional requirements into technical requirements, creatively identifying any missing steps or considerations.
**What you will bring**
- 6+ years of experience in software development.
- At least 5 years of experience in technologies like Java, J2EE, C#, Groovy and possess strong OOPS knowledge.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with web tier programming / UI Layer - React, Angular, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, jQuery.
- Strong experience in Spring Framework
- Knowledge and experience in developing microservices.
- Hands on experience in PL/SQL, Oracle and Postgres.
- Ability to understand and write complex SQL queries.
- Experience with Git/GitHub, DevOps Tools, Liquibase and Docker.
- Implementation of best practices, performance improvements and perform code reviews.
- Solid understanding of modern software development and design.
- A great team player and ready to take on initiatives in unknown areas.
- Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, written and oral communications.
