A Senior Database Administrator will be responsible for managing and optimizing SQL Server databases to ensure their reliability, availability, and performance. Here are the key aspects of the role:
**About the Role**

In this opportunity as a Senior Database Administrator, you will be responsible to:

- ** Database Management**: Install, upgrade, and maintain SQL Server instances across multiple environments.
- ** Performance Tuning**: Optimize database performance through index tuning, query optimization, and resource monitoring.
- ** Backup and Recovery**: Design and implement robust backup strategies and disaster recovery processes.
- ** High Availability Solutions**: Implement and manage high availability solutions such as Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, and Log Shipping.
- ** Monitoring**: Enhance SQL monitoring process
- ** Troubleshooting**: Diagnose and resolve complex database issues in production and non-production environments.
- ** Security Audits**: Perform regular security audits and implement measures to protect sensitive data.
- ** Documentation**: Accurately document work and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support 24x7 Operations/Production SQL Server 2016+

**About You**

You’re a fit for the role if your background includes:

- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering.
- 5 years of hands-on experience managing SQL Server in various environments
- Proficiency in SQL Server versions 2016-2022, including installation, configuration, and migration
- Strong understanding of high availability and disaster recovery solutions
- Deep knowledge of SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies
- Experience with cloud-based SQL Server deployments (Azure SQL Database, AWS RDS, etc.)
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Experience in monitoring and acting on critical production issues (Datadog experience would be optimal)
- AWS Experience (specifically designing, implementing, and/or supporting RDS)
- Experience in Automation through scripting, SSIS package & SSRS Report development
- Excellent communication skills to interact with various teams and stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously
