Job Description Summary:

- Responsible for performing research and creating designs** **of a new product, improving the characteristics of existing products of the company, and determining different types of products that will be of use within an industry
- Support the integration of the experience of all regions.
- Design, develop and optimize innovation of both proprietary and non-proprietary machines giving the best performance for Omya products.

Roles and responsabilities:
The Mechanical design engineer is responsible for performing research and creating designs of a new product, improving the characteristics of existing products of the company, and determining different types of products that will be of use within the industry.

Machine Design Functions
- Dealing with and resolving problems and issues which arise both from internal and external stakeholders
- Working with the sales and marketing team to promote sales of proprietary and new developments
- Work accordingly to the standard Omya Engineering Procedures.
- Oversee installation, operation, maintenance or repair to ensure that machines or equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.
- Handling new client enquiries and for both internal and joint venture projects.
- Supervise and assist supplier in manufacturing process.
- Responsible for quality of manufacturing by establishing with suppliers manufacturing quality control procedures and manufacturing audits
- Detailed design engineering work for machines and installation components for proprietary machines with the main focus on air classifiers, pin mills, stirrer ball mills and their machine components.
- Produce the machine documentation for the aforesaid machines including installation, operation manuals etc.
- Produce the construction and manufacturing documents (drawings, parts lists, tech. purchase requisitions, schedule of drawings, spare parts lists, technical datasheets etc.)
- Standardise the construction down to the individual parts level, using a design appropriate to the standards, manufacture and function.
- Independently produce general calculations.
- Support the spare parts procedure.
- Interface with external vendors and suppliers for component selection, manufacturing and assembly.
Obligation to participate in department discussion meetings and discussions convened outside the company, where the supervisor directs that the job holder be present.
- Support external companies for FEM or be able to calculate FEM.

**Requisitos**:
Required qualifications:

- Mechanical Engineering with 5 years’ experience in Engineering or Machine development related issues,
- Fluency in English
- Interpersonal and organizational skills
- Good communication skills
- Experience in the production of construction designs according to specifications, drawings, parts lists and tech. manufacturing documents
- Foreign language: English is required as a precondition
- Ability to work in a team
- CAD - training “CREO,” PC skills, MS Office is a required precondition, SharePoint
