Lead Engineer

**Job Description Summary**: Function as Commercial Aviation Engines hardware field support expert to customers (airlines/operators/repairs hops/aircraft manufacturers). As Hardware Owner the Product Support Engineer, identifies and tracks in-service reliability of hardware/modules/systems, determines need for repair development or product improvements, develops and owns field control programs.

Responsible to contribute to minimize potential customer operation disruptions due to in-service issues. Develop field plans including Service Bulletins, Initiate/participate in Technical/Tollgate Reviews, Quick Market Intelligence (QMIs), Cluster Calls, prepares technical communications to customers, is responsible for accuracy of technical publications’ content (Engine Maintenance Manual, Aircraft Maintenance Manual, Illustrated Part Catalog, Service Bulletins, Departure Records, etc.).

Participates in initiatives for field problem corrective and proactive actions.
In this role the Product Support Engineer works in coordination with Engine Systems Design and Integration (ESD&I), Life Cycle Engineering, Product Reliability and Repair Technologies Engineering teams to solve and to anticipate field problems. Due to his/her hardware ownership and responsibility with aviation operations around the world, it is required to be available on a 24 hours / 7 days a week basis, to provide support to customers.

**Roles and Responsibilities**

**The Product Support Engineer must**:

- Execute with limited guidance the analysis/evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product/program requirements
- Recommend and guide approach to meet the technical and program requirements.
- Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules and contract commitments.
- Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to field problems.
- Lead Root Cause Investigations
- Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams; mentor others in the organization.
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with industry and government regulations, engineering policies and procedures.
- Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments to internal and external customers such as Airlines and Airframers.
- Lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and/or tasks.
- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical, customer and program reviews.

**Required Qualifications**
- BS degree or Master’s degree or PhD degree in related field with experience relevant to indicated position areas of expertise and knowledge of related disciplines.
- In-depth knowledge of aviation engines.
- Field Support, Mechanical Design, or Maintenance experience on aviation engine components/modules/systems.
- Experience on Engine hardware or Components, and/or Engine Systems troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of airworthiness regulations.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to guide others.
- Fundamental understanding of the technology and tools relevant to the function.
- Demonstrated business technical written and oral communication skills in English.
- Experience on presenting technical topics to internal and external stakeholders
