The role of the Senior Product Manager is to provide expert support to country and regional teams engaged in the sales and implementation teams. The individual will take overall responsibility for the Core Trade Products at a local and regional level. This includes the delivery of agreed initiatives, product specific development, maintenance of the control environment, portfolio management and, marketing and managing specific country enquiries. This includes responsibility for existing products and develop and rollout of new services including Sustainability product solutions. - Lead and deliver strategic Product plans to grow the GTRF Business - Preparing and discuss with the relevant Risk Stewards proper governance package (Business Case) for any product/ initiative roll out. - Ensure adherence to governance and compliance requirements to any new regulations in the product area. - Develop and execute on key strategic initiatives and programmes that will influence delivery of solutions to our customers across Wholesale - Ensure alignment across all regions and provide support to other teams as required - Develop and deliver the product development strategy for GTRF and work in partnership with technology to implement any strategic initiatives that may improve access to the market and maximise underlying revenue by meeting customer needs - Understand current economic trends and its impact on HSBC and GTRF and identify key levers to capitalise on opportunities or minimise downside exposure - Maintain and enhance HSBC's positioning through the planning and execution of conferences, active participation in industry associations, interaction with regulatory bodies and issue market leading publications - Ensure that the Product team is responsive to the requirements and expectations of the Global Businesses. Promote awareness of GTRF products, propositions, strategies and initiatives - Lead, develop and motivate the leadership team to attract, retain and develop the capacity, capability and talent to provide for succession and ensure delivery of business objectives - Maintain a robust and efficient control environment across GTRF to ensure good operational, financial and project management and compliance with HSBC policy and procedures, together with early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise - Lead the implementation and oversight of GTRF policy and governance frameworks, procedures, practices and standards to ensure quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance Requirements - Relevant product knowledge of GTRF products, strong understanding of Core Trade Products and Trade Loans. - Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Wholesale (Commercial Banking/ Global Banking) - Desire past working experience (>3 years) in a similar role, i.e. Product management - Strong understanding of all end-to end aspects related to GTRF product, i.e risk, operations, legal, compliance, etc. - A flexible and adaptable approach to change and will support others to respond in a similar way - Experience of supporting others' performance, enabling them to achieve by providing clear direction, motivation and support - Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered - Proven ability to build successful working relationships with key internal stakeholders - e.g. Risk, Operations, Compliance, FCC, etc. - Spoken/ Written English is required - Proven ability to navigate and implement inside a cross functional and matrix organizational model - Strong team lead, who is comfortable working on multiple assignments, where the teams will often be distributed across the globe and culturally diverse “At HSBC we expect our people to treat each other with dignity and respect, creating an inclusive culture that promotes equal opportunities.
