Machine Shop Manager

Location: Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico

We are seeking an experienced Machine Shop Manager to lead the daily operations of a high-precision machining department within a global manufacturing company. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader with a strong technical background in CNC machining, programming, and team management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise machine shop operations, including supervisors, CNC programmers, machinists, technicians, and operators.
  • Plan and prioritize production schedules to meet quality, delivery, and productivity goals.
  • Oversee CNC machining processes involving 3-axis and 5-axis equipment.
  • Support and collaborate with CNC programmers to ensure efficient programming and machining strategies.
  • Monitor production quality and ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance of machine shop equipment.
  • Partner with Engineering and Operations teams to resolve technical and manufacturing challenges.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and mentor team members while promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous learning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a CNC machine shop or precision machining environment.
  • Strong experience with 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machining.
  • Experience with Wire EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining).
  • Knowledge of CNC programming and CAM software.
  • Hands-on experience programming and operating Haas and Hurco CNC machines highly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T.
  • Proven leadership experience managing supervisors, programmers, technicians, and production personnel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish required.

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday
  • Day Shift (7:30 am - 5:10 pm)
