What will you do?
•Manage daily transportation and shipping operations, including scheduling, routing, and tracking shipments.
•Supervise and lead a team of transportation and shipping personnel, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
•Ensure compliance with safety regulations and transportation laws applicable.
•Coordinate with production, warehouse, materials teams to align shipping schedules with manufacturing deadlines.
•Monitor and optimi.ze shipping costs, work closely with SCM to reduce costs with carriers and implementing cost-saving strategies.
•Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory levels, and transportation metrics.
•Address and resolve any issues or delays in the transportation and shipping process.
•Implement and oversee use of transportation management systems (TMS) for efficient operations.
•Prepare and analyze transportation and shipping reports to identify areas for improvement.
What will you need to succeed?
•Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
•Proven experience in transportation, shipping, or logistics within a manufacturing environment.
•Strong leadership and team management skills.
•Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
•Proficient in logistics software and transportation management systems.
•Effective communication and negotiation skills.
•Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards in transportation.
