As a BPA Manager supporting the R&D Finance Team , you will create value by driving financial planning, reporting, and analysis activities within Global R&D to maximize its resource allocation. Provides analytical support, intelligently challenges status quo, and simplifies/standardizes outcomes. The role is responsible for monthly variance analysis accompanying concise commentary, delivery of accurate dashboards, and assessment of risks and opportunities. Additionally, it coordinates the financial planning processes with oversight across all P&L lines, CapEx, project direct expenses, and FTEs.
In this role, a typical day will include:
Lead month end, rolling forecast and annual target processes, demonstrating business understanding, curiosity, and conveying explanations and actions in an effective manner Support BPA processes, including tools/templates design and implementation, system submissions, ad-hoc analysis, etc. Support various stages of Strategic Planning process Support R&D’s Franchise Lead with special presentations or ad hoc requirements Subject matter expert on the financial reporting systems and ownership of data integrity (Provides understanding and guidance to the team on system intricacies) Drive value creation by simplifying and automating financial planning and analysisWHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
At least 5 years of relevant experience in financial planning & analysis roles. Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, accounting/finance; CPA, CMA or MBA preferred. Fluent in spoken and written English, strong written and oral communication skills. Project management and leadership skills, ability to work cross functional and in teams. Experience working in multicultural/international environments. Experience working with remote teams. Excellent analytical and communication skills. Take ownership of the work and intelligently challenge the status quo. Ability to understand the bigger picture (e.g., impacts across the business, etc). Team player able to interact with all levels and interface effectively with global counterparts. Proactivity, attention to detail, and quality. Problem-solving mindset, with a strong passion for driving a simplification agenda. High proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel and PowerPoint).HOW YOU CAN THRIVE AT ALCON:
