As a Business Development Manager, the successful applicant’s role will be to combine creative spirit, outside the box mentality and commercial savviness to help the company develop new business.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong teamwork ethic and feel comfortable working both independently and within the context of a team depending on the specific requirements of a particular project.

The position will be located at our head office in the centre of Polanco, Mexico City with movement around the city and country.

The individual will be an energetic and focused Business Development Manager responsible for building and preserving trusting relationships with key partners, existing and new clients encompassing both the private and commercial sector.

The position will take on the responsibility of elevating the sales of the company and managing the process of origination to the completion of a project from a customer management standpoint.

 

Role responsibilities

 

  • Building and Nurturing Client Relationships: Cultivate strong relationships with clients, interior designers, architects, and other key influencers in the furniture and interior design industry.
  • Project Reviews: Regularly meet with clients to assess satisfaction levels with delivered designs and products, ensuring expectations are met or exceded.
  • Exploring Upsell Opportunities: Identify opportunities to enhance existing projects with additional services or products, such as décor accessories, lighting, or artwork.
  • New Client Acquisition: Actively seek, qualify, and close new partnerships and accounts, with a focus on expanding the company's footprint in the furniture and interior design sectors.
  • Industry Networking: Attend design expos, furniture shows, and industry seminars to establish relationships, keeping abreast of the latest trends and market demands.
  • Achieving Sales Targets: Consistently meet or exceed sales and partnership targets, ensuring the company's growth objectives are met.
  • Issue Resolution: Proactively address and resolve concerns raised by clients or partners, ensuring their experience remains positive.
  • Feedback Mechanisms: Deploy client satisfaction surveys after project completion to gather insights and identify areas for improvement.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track sales and partnership performance metrics, ensuring timely delivery, quality adherence, and alignment with client expectations.
  • Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with design, procurement, and delivery teams to ensure projects are executed seamlessly and client requirements are effectively met.

Qualifications

 

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field OR strong sales experience in the industry.
  • Multilingual Abilities: Ideally bilingual in English and Spanish; proficiency in written and spoken English is essential
  • Effective Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adept at presenting design concepts clearly and persuasively
  • Familiarity with Target Markets: Experience with US design and furniture markets, understanding regional design preferences and trends
  • Client Relations Expertise: Strong communication and relationship management skills; ability to cultivate and maintain connections with clients and industry professionals
  • Emotional Intelligence: Ability to navigate difficult conversations and situations with tact and understanding, leveraging both emotional intelligence and logic
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated analytical ability, especially in understanding clients' design needs and proposing tailored solutions
  • Organizational Prowess: Advanced organizational skills, adept at managing multiple projects and clients simultaneously
  • Team Player: Values collaboration and has a teamwork-oriented perspective, ensuring seamless integration with design and delivery teams
