Your mission, roles and responsibilities

The Health and Safety Specialist must be experienced person in related processes of health and safety, as risk prevention and mitigation, including the development of preventive safety measures. Appliance of the regulations regarding health (ergonomic included), safety and environment, including Forvia policies and rules is part of the responsibilities. The attention and fulfillment of the Group and plant objectives as a support of the management is one of the main roles.
The main missions of the role are:
- Ensure the correct functioning of fire systems.
- Coordinate the training and updating of site’s emergency teams.
- Be a leader during any emergency in the site.
- Train the staff in terms of ergonomics, health, and safety.
- Coordinate the activities of the necessary ergonomic, health, and safety studies, including the supervision of HSE consultants.
- Perform and follow-up HSE audits.
- Promote the supervision of contractors and suppliers according with Forvia standards.
- Guide, supervise and assess about HSE Group, customer, and legal requirements.
- Participate in accidents investigations that occur in the site. 
- Participate in the launching of new projects that impact in ergonomics, health, and safety.
- Perform machine safety assessment for new and current equipment.
- STOP any activity or situation that has the potential to cause harm to the employees, the environment, and the property.
- Ensure the purchase of the materials necessary for the operation of the health, safety and ergonomic activities required by the department.
- Develop instructions, procedures and reports related with HSE activities.
- Manage the approval of current or new hazardous materials tending to decrease its use in the site.
- Foster an HSE culture with all the employee, visitors, and contractors.
- Participate actively in the accident prevention and safety improvement.
- Support and participate in the creation of methods to ensure the performance of the site’s management systems.
- Participate and contact actively with the health internal services.
- Lead and participate in HSE related certifications.

Your profile and competencies to succeed

The ideal candidate will have/be:
Minimum education level: Bachelor of business management, engineering (industrial, chemical, mechanical), health sciences or environmental or related. HSE specialization (desirable).
Experience:
o At least 3 years of prior experience in automotive industry or related areas.
o Attention to government inspections and audits in health and safety matters.
o HSE requirements and regulations management.
o Health, safety and environment management systems audits contribution.
o Ergonomic assessment for manual operations.
o Machines safety assessment.

Skills and competencies
o Knowledge of HSE tools and methods.
o Solving problems method knowledge.
o Risk assessment analysis development.
o Emergency response and control management, including the use of equipment and systems use.
o Results orientation.
o Basic knowledge of IATF .
o Teamwork.
o English communication.
o Strong knowledge of Mexican health, safety and environmental standards.
