Leadership Responsibilities:

High level of independent work and initiative required for performance of role.

Role model the Diageo leadership capabilities, mentor and motivate the team, build interdependency with the rest of the organization.

Leadership capabilities in specific legal projects; including regulatory issues. 

Ensure good corporate governance and compliance matters, including training.

Full responsibility for trials and assessments judicial management.

Counsels Supply Chain, Operations, HR, Procurement, Governance, Logistic, Special Project and Finance regarding any matter that could impact business’ image or assets.

Purpose of Role:

Minimize legal and administrative risk for Supply Mx.

Guarantee full legal protection for Supply Mx, as well tackle all legal aspects to maintain the business continuity of Supply Tequila and Mezcal.

Promote before adequate authorities a safer, helpful and just legal framework for the business.

Deliver the accurate legal framework that guarantees Diageo´s reputation

Top Accountabilities .

Design/draft of Contracts, agreements, processes, teamwork basis, external and internal communication memos for all business areas and all Diageo Companies, specially agreements executed by Tequila and Mezcla related companies with suppliers, customers, clients, counterparties, government and judicial authorities and other Diageo entities.

Design judicial strategies, studies and determinations on norms, taxes and administrative processes.

Verification of full legal compliance for every business activity.

Identify and implement steps to minimize legal risk for Supply MX.

Provide legal opinions regarding business’ legal framework.

Oversee and approve agreements, contracts and all other judicial document where Supply MX are involved.

File complaints and litigations before accurate authority whenever business needs require it (municipal, state and federal authorities).

Legally represents Diageo in all trial and administrative proceeding, before all accurate authorities.

Qualifications and Experience Required .

Crucial

Bachelors in Law (at least 6 years of experience).

Strong public relationships capabilities.

Strong leadership capabilities.

Proficient Commercial, Public, Administrative, Corporate and Tax Law Knowledge.

Strong legal defence strategies crafting capabilities.

Strong analytical skills especially in sophisticated situations where a timely and efficient solution is needed.

English and Spanish sophisticated skills.
