Job Summary

 

As a Die Casting Process Engineer, you will be responsible for improving die casting operations within the manufacturing facility. Your role will involve leading/managing personnel, optimizing production processes, ensuring quality standards, and implementing safety measures to achieve efficient and effective production outcomes.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Oversee and manage the die casting process from initial design through production.
  • Ensure that casting processes meet quality, cost, and timeline requirements.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional teams for process improvement projects.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Close training gaps the Team may have.
  • Design and develop molds, dies, and tooling for die casting operations.
  • Collaborate with toolmakers and designers to optimize tooling for efficiency and quality.
  • Make sure all designs meet the budgetary requirements.
  • Meet all project dates.
  • Develop and implement die books.
  • Select appropriate metal alloys for die casting based on product requirements.
  • Optimize casting parameters (e.g., temperature, pressure, cycle times) to improve productivity and reduce defects.
Preferred Skills and Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in die casting operations, including process design, tooling development, and quality management.
  • Strong knowledge of metal alloys, casting principles, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for die and mold design.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO standards) and statistical process control (SPC) techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot process issues effectively.
  • Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • English proficiency is a must.
