TelevisaUnivision is seeking a talented Social Media Producer based in Mexico with a passion for news for Hispanics in the US. The main role of the Social Media Producer is to create content for the social media news accounts and maximizing the engagement. This position could works closely with the Executive Producers of on-air shows to develop engaging content and drive traffic to official websites as well as audience awareness about those shows.
The successful candidate will be in charge of finding relevant sources for stories and opportunities for the Digital News editorial team. The producer will use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok on a daily basis. This individual must be a strategic and creative thinker, self-starter, and a collaborator willing to learn and share ideas.
YOUR DAY-DAY:
Adapt content from television and the main Univision digital site for several social media platforms.
Create and help produce original platform-specific content for every social media channel.
Communicate what's trending online and help find sources and interesting topics for digital news stories.
Work closely with editors in knowing what content is most relevant to our audience.
Experiment with new formats for social media content creation.
Engage with the audience by connecting to the social conversation.
Promote, distribute and extend the reach of the assigned content outside the main site.
Outstanding writing skills in Spanish for: write copies for social media platforms with no errors and write scripts for social media videos.
Publish in real time and schedule content for Instagram, Twitter, Tik Tok and Facebook.
Design graphics in varying formats for social media.
Support the main production team on TV initiatives.
Familiar with social media tools such as: Sprout Social and Business Manager
Be able to use photoshop and premiere.
Be able to support breaking news events during work hours and off work hours (weekends).
YOU HAVE:
College Degree or equivalent work experience in Broadcast Communications, Journalism or related.
3 years’ experience in a major news market.
Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms
Effectively communicates information and ideas in writing and video format
Spanish (native) and English (fluent) required.
Outstanding writing skills in Spanish.
Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Video and photo editing.
Ability to multitask and prioritize.
Comfort using highly technical and automated systems.
Perform well in a fast-paced environment and breaking news situations.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
