What will you do at Ciena?

We’re looking for a highly motivated and talented individual for a project management role supporting strategic the Broadband Access product lines, part of Ciena Routing and Switching Portfolio (RSP). The role will be responsible for Supply Chain Operations and successful transition of products to full production ramp, while meeting timelines, product cost, yield/capacity targets and forecasted volumes.

The role will also support strategic projects to include the qualification of new suppliers and factory locations, as well as product life cycle changes and phase-in phase-out transitions. Interactions will be mostly with Product Line Managers (PLM), R&D, Operations Engineering/Supply Chain colleagues and suppliers around the world. Together with the leadership team, co-workers, and cross functional teams, most of the work will consist developing strategies, integrated plans, manage schedules, team actions & associated process documents, to meet business objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Elaborate project plans from situational context, challenges and product road maps. Run business cases to support and resource plans. Work with PLM to ensure products and projects requirement are defined, documented, and implemented as part of every project to ensure material and capacity planning supports future customer demand. Ensure all key resources from the Ciena supply chain team and supplier, including materials, product engineering, test engineering, quality and design are assigned and provide the required support to meet project deliverables. Prepare various analyses and reports linked to projects and business drivers. Ensure effective resolution of challenges and communication with project teams and leadership on project commitments, and schedule changes. Ensure proper transition of new products in volume into Ciena supply chain. Work with R&D & Ops Engineering, lead efforts for technical issues to resolve quickly, avoid delay. Interact with Engineering and Quality to coordinate, manufacturing yield drops, product issues, Failure analysis and equipment investigation to improve quality/KPIs. Create and/or maintain high quality processes and documented procedures in the systems of record. Identify areas of risk or inefficiency and work collaboratively to put processes in place to clarify roles and responsibilities and mitigate/address the gaps or dependencies. Drive continuous improvement in process and solutions.

SKILLS

Fluency in project management and planning, risk assessment and conflicts resolution. Maintain project schedule & actions plans. Strong communication skills, written, verbal and in formal presentations. Excellent facilitator with analytical, problem-solving skills. Establish relationships with key suppliers and cross functional team members. Ability to balance multiple priorities within the framework of timelines and budget objectives. Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Suite PC applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and project planning. Interpersonal skills and emotional IQ.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Engineering degree or equivalent, MBA degree a plus. 12 years of related experience in Manufacturing, Test Engineering and Quality control. Project/Program Management training and certifications. Agile, Oracle et MCS knowledge Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation and Benefits


The annual pay range for this position is $104,200 CAD - $166,400 CAD


Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission. In addition to competitive compensation, Ciena offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, participation in 401(K) (USA) & DCPP (Canada) with company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company-paid holidays, paid sick leave, and vacation time.
