The role of the Learning & Development Manager

The Learning & Development Manager is an essential member of the East Cape's Leadership team that contributes to ensuring that we create luxury with genuine heart for our guests and that we Inspire the world to lead with genuine heart.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning and Development Manager to join our team at Baja California´s East Cape. As the L&D Manager, you will play a crucial role in fostering a growth mindset and providing the necessary learning resources to empower our employees to reach their full potential.

We are looking for a leader who truly believes in the power of personal development and acts as a role model for others. Your commitment to excellence will be the driving force behind your efforts to help individuals understand the "how" and "why" behind their actions.

Essential Functions

Creates a compelling picture of how the learning function can improve the performance of the hotel and execute the strategy and hotel goals.

Develops long rage learning, development, and human performance strategies to implement the vision.

Responsible for an indirect reporting relationship with the Designated Trainers, ensuring their roles and responsibilities are supported, developed, and adhered to in standards achievement. Trains new Designated Trainers when required.

Embarks new managers to the company – ensures they are given the knowledge and skills to successfully thrive in Four Seasons.

Trains and coaches' leaders on how to deliver training,perform standard testing, conduct management development and blended learning programs to their teams.

Is a champion for Core and Culture Standards achievement through training, testing, campaigns, and initiatives.

It isinvolved in ensuring the necessary training and learning is conducted in departments on a consistent basis.

Works with hotel management to identify performance gaps through the analysis of Glitch, LQAand Medallia Reports.

Is able to facilitate learning programs for managers and employees when required.

Consults with managers to determine solutions to needs and implement change initiatives

Creates and promotesconnection and wellbeingactivitiesthatenhanceemployeeengagement and experience.

Knowledge and Skills

Education: 

Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business Administration or Human Resources

Experience: 

Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in learning and development including in a management position

Understanding and experience with adult learning

Prior experience in a luxury hospitality highly required

Skills and Abilities: 

KnowledgeofWorkdayispreferred

Requires knowledge of the ability to operate computer equipment

Experience in employee engagement, employer branding, onboarding will be advantageous

Ability to read and speak and write English and Spanish

Understand and familiar with quality standards and service standards of the hotel

Reasonable cost analysis and cost management skills

Highest level of integrity and transparency

Apply an ethical approach to the outcome of situations

Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work with cross-functional teams and vendors’ delivery man

Reasonable problem-solving, decision-making and conflict resolution skills

Work in a safe, prudent and organized manner
