We are proud to be an EEO/AA employer.**General Summary**:The Production Manager manages and/or assists with managing various production teams and activities in the production and manufacturing floor; this may include, and it is not limited to production planning, directing and monitoring the production group to meet safety and quality standards, established specifications, schedules and volume/cost/loss targets. The Manager will be liaising with various support groups such as Engineering, Supply Chain Management (i.e., Planning), Procurement, among others; these joint efforts will be focused on developing production schedules, managing change and allocating labor/capital resources. This individual must be able implement and drive Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) across the production operations and ensure all projects are delivered in a safely manner, at the highest quality standards, while maintaining budgetary guidelines and strict deadlines.**Essential Functions**- Provide effective team leadership during times of change and production ramp up.- Responsible for production activities in a manufacturing environment with the goal to develop and implement system-level/strategic solutions to optimize efficiency and resource utilization, increase safety levels, minimize costs and maintain high quality standards- Coordinate team activities to optimize cost performance, optimizing operations and minimizing waste through the development of a continuous-improvement culture that includes Lean Six Sigma methodology, 5S and Kaizen principles to mention a few.- Build a strong production management team, providing a balanced focus between strategic, tactical and operational activities through exceptional servant leadership; while providing a clear vision and inspiring staff to achieve excellence.- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers.- Demonstrate the ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches.- Proactively work with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Facilities, EHS, QA, etc. incorporating best practices into the manufacturing environment.- Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on manufacturing activities.- Meet business objectives and productions schedules while ensuring product standards that will exceed our customer’s expectations.- Lead manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports strategic initiatives.- Accountable for problem solving and cost reduction.- Communicate any problems or obstacles to senior management.**Competencies**- Able to work independently with mínimal direction.- Six Sigma Black Belt - Min. of 3-5 years of experience.- Lean Manufacturing and/or Lean Six Sigma implementation experience.- Experience with MS project or Smart Sheet for effective project management.- Knowledge of and ability to facilitate lean manufacturing processes activities on 5S, Standard Work Instructions, 5 Why’s, TPM, TFM, Project Management, Kanban, Poke Yoke.- Proven experience in a large-scale, high speed/high volume manufacturing environment.- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.- Results oriented with ability to plan and deliver project deadlines and goals.- Resilient, self-motivated, and able to work well under pressure.- Team oriented, able to work with peers effectively.- Ability to coach and mentor employees on a one-on-one basis as well as a group.- AutoCad, Inventor and CMMS preferred.**Supervisory Responsibility**- Assign work to the team to ensure timely completion of the production schedule.- Develop the team to ensure adequately trained resources are available for current and future business needs.- Ensuring the production groups have the required tools, supplies, and training to perform their jobs.- Provide continual feedback to your employees on performance and communicating areas for improvement.- Improve process flow and facility layout on the manufacturing floor.- Improve safety for all employees.- Assists in training all site leaders and staff.- Handles disciplinary action in accordance with company policy for direct staff.**Work Environment**Operate in a professional office and manufacturing environment
