Manufacturing Engineer

**Tasks**:- manage and execute the manufacturing engineering of the assigned processes- ensure the achievement of manufacturing engineering targets according to internal and external customer expectations- interface to segment, BU or division functions in order to gather local manufacturing engineering requirements (e.g. ESH and ergonomics) and other feedback- implement, lead and conduct activities to achieve or exceed financial targets related to costs, lead time, quality, material utilization standards, waste, OEE, machine utilization, consumables, energy, etc. in cooperation with plant controlling and related areas- ensure that the financial goals are met- design and implement overall (cross product) factory processes e.g. by definition of production concept (e.g. line vs. job shop organization), design of plant/operations unit layout (e.g. factory, workplace), factory simulation (e.g. manufacturing and logistics processes, ergonomics, etc.) or product cost calculation according to lean principles and standards- align with Process and Product Industrialization (PPI) to realize process changes and industrializations of new product specifications- define standard operation sheet, work combination table and (standard work instruction) job instruction sheet including standard times (e.g. by time studies) based on work instructions and according to standards- profund knowledge and comprehension of the product intrinsecal and extrinsecally according to specifications- deep understanding of all influences to the product, connected to manufacturing and process setup- ensure the installation, start-up, validation and handover (to production) and improvement of all production and supply chain equipment as well as tools (incl. tool management) and devices, according to production control plans and standards- design and implement production and supply chain equipment IT (i.e. software as e.g. PLC, MDA, MES, etc. and hardware as e.g. IPCs, control boxes, etc.; also Industry 4.0) according to standards in cooperation with plant supply chain.- provide feedback and input for further development of standards regarding manufacturing engineering and production processes (e.g. production flow plan, production control plan, work instructions, standardized work chart, standardized work combination table, job instruction sheet, process parameters, materials), production equipment (e.g. machines, human machine interface, ergonomics, equipment, layout), logistics (e.g. material handling and storage technologies) and quality (e.g. test methods, equipment)- ensure the availability of qualified employees for the manufacturing engineering function in cooperation with plant HR- conduct training measures in assigned processes- Participates actively in the process of continuous improvement of quality programs, and safety, environmental and health activities (see FRH 000 001 matrix of responsibilities and authority)**Qualifications**:- university degree, preferably in Manufacturing or mechanical engineering, or related discipline- 3 or more years of professional experience in various engineering functions in automotive and plastics industry- cross-functional experience e.g. in production, quality, is preferred- proven and comprehensive experience in extrusion of plastic, rubber production processes. Blow molding, assembly (vorpo and henn machines), cuttng devices, welding machines (spin welding, hot plate, leakage test) and rubber vulcanization.- 3 or more years in a leadership position (direct or indirect leadership), preferably in a technical team- experience working with international teams on process and production topics and understanding of foreign cultures- proficient English is mandatory**About us**:Continental develops pioneering technologies and services for sustainable and connected mobility of people and their goods.
