**LOCATION**:Acuna / Coahuila (MX-COA), Mexico | **BRAND**: Bendix | **REQUISITION ID**:6568 |** JOB GRADE**:14|** ON-SITE/REMOTE**: On-site**JOB DESCRIPTION**:**Position Summary**:Responsible of equipment operation in anodization and/or impregnation areas located within the manufacturing operation. Work involves responsibility for the daily chemical maintenance of the metal finishing system and impregnation system as well as all interrelated systems - including the operation of the Ion Exchange (IX) and Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) systems. Objectives are maximizing the efficient operation of all systems to manage operational costs and ensuring quality coating as well as compliance environmental and local water discharge parameters.**Essential Functions**:- Control, monitor, and maintain the chemistry of the metal finishing system as well the operation of the treatment processes (IX and WWTP)- This position is considered as critical for property safety and/or valve chain custody.- Daily titration of all metal finishing chemical tanks- Daily maintenance of concentrations in metal finishing chemical tanks based on titration- Daily testing and parameter monitoring for impregnation system performance.- Monitor incoming and pre-treated water quality levels (RO system)- Maintaining chemical control logs and records- Perform minor cleaning/calibration/maintenance to equipment- Work with AMT personnel to adjust chemistry based on productivity, performance or quality- Operate IX water recycling system - maintain chemical levels, understand operating parameters, maintain operational records, troubleshoot system if faults detected- Operate WWTP system - maintain chemical levels perform jar tests to determine optimal treatment, understand operating parameters, maintain operational records, troubleshoot system if faults detected.- Operate RO system for pre-treatment of water that feeds the metal finishing line- Maintain chemical lab - order titration chemicals and lab equipment, create lab work instructions; maintain testing records and calibration records.- Perform the corrosion tests of the treated product in the saline chamber.- Perform the evaluation and document the results of the corrosion levels obtained from the saline tests and make the adjustments in the chemistry, if necessary, to bring them within the specification.- Sending engineering samples to the corporate laboratories so that the quality of the treated products can be evaluated.- Sending samples of the chemicals to the laboratories assigned by the manufacturers of these to be analyzed for the consistency of the substances, make the necessary adjustments based on the resulting analysis and document the results ensuring that they are within the specification.- Handles chemicals and lab equipment.- Select, install and calibrates equipment.- Keeps critical equipment up and running.- Keeps and improves PM’s related to equipment.- Problem solving for equipment issues- Implements robust projects to; avoid equipment down time, improve cost, avoid process errors leading to Quality issues and to automate repetitive tasks/processes.- Monitors equipment OEE and implement continuous improvement actions.- Creates procedures to properly operate equipment- Knows and Communicates the need for product safety.- Knows and Communicates the need for product safety.- The employee has the authority to stop the production line, when he/she notices that the product has a quality problem or defect.- Support PSA Activities and procedures with team members.- Perform all those activities that by the nature of the position are required.**Management & Supervisory Responsibilities**:- Process engineer reports to the plant Engineering Manager.- Chemicals tech, co-ops, student may report to this position.**Knowledge**:- Chemical Process Control engineering (pneumatic, electronics, plc’s, programing, sensors)- Mechanical maintenance- Instrumentation**Experience**:- 2-3 years in control engineering- Relevant experience in mechanical maintenance.**Skills**:- High sense of urgency- Hands on individual- Proactive- Responsibility- Teamwork- adaptability**Education/Certifications**:Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, Mechatronics preferred.**What does Bendix have to offer you?**- Work-life balance that includes Paid Vacation & Holiday Paid Time Off- Vacation Premium- Life insurance- Christmas Bonus- Educational assistance program- Wellness program- Saving Fund- Pantry Vouchers- Permits paid for: Marriage or Death of a direct relative- Attendance Bonuses- Cafeteria Subsidy- Subsidy for prescription glasses- Medical service in plant- Recognition programs- Gym
