In this role, you will be responsible for conceptualizing and crafting visually stunning designs for a range of home decor products, ensuring they align with market trends, brand standards, and customer preferences. This role combines creativity with a strategic approach, aiming to deliver not only aesthetically pleasing designs but also products that align with market demands and cost considerations.**Responsibilities**:- Generate creative and on-trend designs for various home decor categories, such as picture frames, shadow boxes, wall decor, bedding and bath decor, ensuring broad market appeal.- Collaborate closely with the Creative Director and cross-functional teams, including Product Development and Merchandising, to align designs with brand standards and meet product needs.- Drive the complete product development process, overseeing concepts from creation to manufacturing-ready designs, ensuring a seamless transition through each stage.- Stay informed about market trends and customer preferences, with a focus on key marketplaces like Amazon, Target, and Wayfair.- Ensure designs strike a balance between aesthetics and cost considerations, meeting quality standards and achieving FOB targets.- Oversee the creation and evaluation of prototypes, validating and refining design concepts to ensure they meet the envisioned standards.- Adapt designs based on feedback, evolving market dynamics, and production requirements, ensuring a flexible approach to meet changing needs.- Analyze market gaps and identify white space opportunities for product innovation.- Lead and facilitate product brainstorming sessions to generate new product ideas and categories.- Create visually compelling presentations to effectively communicate design concepts to cross-functional teams.- Prepare and provide necessary design files for prototyping and production purposes.- Work closely with production teams to sign off on designed products, ensuring alignment with design intent and quality standards.**Requirements**:- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in product design, with a proven portfolio featuring notable contributions to home decor product designs.- Expert proficiency in Adobe Design Suite, showcasing the ability to create precise, production-ready design files.- Strong portfolio demonstrating a track record of creating innovative and visually appealing home decor designs that resonate with mass-market audiences.- In-depth understanding of market trends and customer preferences, particularly within key marketplaces like Amazon, Target, and Wayfair.- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, consistently meeting tight deadlines and adhering to budget constraints.- Excellent communication skills to convey design concepts clearly and effectively to cross-functional teams.- Demonstrated ability to align designs with brand image and effectively cater to the target customer demographic.**Personal Attributes**:- Adaptable, resourceful, able to work within and navigate ambiguity- Prioritization shifting and ability to multitask- Creative and curious - find a better way- Strong interpersonal skills - diplomatic, tactful, excitable but balanced- Friendly and overall helpful behavior- Passion for problem-solving- A proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing effective solutions with an action-oriented point of view (‘I intend to”)- Self-motivated and assertive with the ability to hunt down answers and drive solutions autonomously**Perks & Benefits**:One of the greatest advantages of being part of Americanflat is the opportunity to collaborate with exceptionally talented individuals Experience firsthand what it's like to work in a fast-paced, art company.- 100% Remote Environment- Paid Time Off (PTO) and Wellness Days- Parental Leave- Bereavement Leave- Defined Career Path- Learning and Development Opportunities
