If you are excited about a role but don't meet every bullet point, we encourage you to apply and join us to create the extraordinary.## Job SummaryTo support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an ***Automation*** ***Manager*** located *in **Flex Guadalajara North.*** Responsible for specifying, designing, installing, and maintaining automation equipment, tooling and applications as required to meet specifications**What a typical day looks like:*** Take ownership during the entire life cycle of automation projects, from concept to feasibility and from fabrication and test to production.* Define, develop, and deploy automation into Flex sites. Design the layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency and safety.* Design and engineer moderate and complex automation equipment, tooling, and applications* Prepare RFQ’s and solicit quotations from automation suppliers. Evaluate supplier quotations to obtain the best combination of technical solution, cost and timing.* Develop budget and schedule for projects and manage projects to stay within them. Able to quickly cost evaluate and work up the financial justification for automating* Conduct equipment design reviews and provide design guidance to suppliers.* Manage automation suppliers through all phases of projects.* Provide on-site support during machine build, debug and testing/qualification.* Supervise installation and testing to verify requirements and specifications are met.* Draft qualification protocols and support equipment qualification activities.* Develop manufacturing solutions with the best combination of manual, semi-automation and/or full automation. Evaluate and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow.* Implement cost effective automation solution.* Support new product development automation needs, facilitate assembly processes through the implementation of assembly cells and automated equipment at NPI stage and ensure meeting development timeline.* Interface with customers and functional owners on product development issues regarding automation. Conduct design-for-automation examination and provide detailed recommendations.* Participate in design reviews and provide status reports as per established schedule.* Prepare and maintain documentation related to the operation of the automation equipment**The experience we’re looking to add to our team*** Bachelor’s Degree is required and related experience.
