Accounting Manager

We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon.In this role, a typical day will include:- Lead, manage and grow SCI team in the different assigned activities.- Control and monitoring Team activities in a timely manner.- Interact proactively with functional areas to ensure accurate accounting and financial reporting is accomplished within prescribed deadlines.- Collaborate proactively with key stakeholders, including Finance colleagues and Regional Financial Reporting and Accounting. Communication with these stakeholders is appropriate and timely when questions regarding accounting/reporting matters arise.- Ensure all processes comply with Alcon standards and policies (i.e. global processes, Alcon Accounting Manual, Alcon Financial Controls Manual, Management Authorization Levels, etc.).- Ensure that blackline and Smart Close activities are performed timely.- Control and monitoring of old items in the balance sheets, as well as the cleaning and compensation of the items that make up the balances.- Correct all records with incorrect functional areas.- Promote a strong control environment and follow up on audit issues and implement correcting measures.- Support on audit processes, providing evidence of the requirements.- Proactively find ways to simplify and standardize current processes, as well as to coordinate the knowledge transfer of these practices to the team.- Develop a career plan for the team under your charge.- Decision making and problem solving, within their role and scope, based on their MAL - MJE (50K All except Brazil - Brazil 100K)- Costing Proccess- Inventory- Revenue Recognition- Costing Analysis & ReportWHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:- Undergraduate degree in Accounting and/or Finance required.
