Senior Data Governance Engineer

We are seeking a **Senior Data Governance Engineer** to drive and enhance data governance initiatives, focusing on securing and optimizing data within Microsoft Purview and Microsoft 365 platforms.**Responsibilities**- Administer Microsoft Purview to establish data classification, labeling, and retention policies- Implement data loss prevention policies and respond to compliance alerts- Support audits and reporting by monitoring sensitive data activity- Deploy sensitivity labels and policies to safeguard organizational data- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to enforce governance frameworks- Maintain metadata management, data cataloging, and data lineage mechanisms- Investigate data leakage instances and lead mitigation efforts in collaboration with security teams- Optimize sharing configurations, guest access, and conditional access policies in collaboration tools- Facilitate regulatory adherence to standards such as GDPR, SOX, and DORA**Requirements**:- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related discipline- 3+ years of experience in data governance, compliance, or security engineering roles- Hands-on expertise in Microsoft Purview and Microsoft 365 Compliance Center tools- Familiarity with Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Outlook collaboration environments- Understanding of regulatory requirements like GDPR, SOX, or DORA- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals or CIPT- Background integrating Microsoft Purview with Sentinel, Defender for Cloud Apps, or SIEM platforms- Knowledge of scripting capabilities (e.g., PowerShell, Graph API) is advantageous**We offer**- Career plan and real growth opportunities- Unlimited access to LinkedIn learning solutions- International Mobility Plan within 25 countries- Constant training, mentoring, online corporate courses, eLearning and more- English classes with a certified teacher- Support for employee’s initiatives (Algorithms club, toastmasters, agile club and more)- Enjoyable working environment (Gaming room, napping area, amenities, events, sport teams and more)- Flexible work schedule and dress code- Collaborate in a multicultural environment and share best practices from around the globe- Hired directly by EPAM & 100% under payroll- Law benefits (IMSS, INFONAVIT, 25% vacation bonus)- Major medical expenses insurance: Life, Major medical expenses with dental & visual coverage (for the employee and direct family members)- 13 % employee savings fund, capped to the law limit- Grocery coupons- 30 days December bonus- Employee Stock Purchase Plan- 12 vacations days plus 4 floating days- Official Mexican holidays, plus 5 extra holidays (Maundry Thursday and Friday, November 2nd, December 24th & 31st)- Monthly non-taxable amount for the electricity and internet billsEPAM is a leading global provider of digital platform engineering and development services.
