Software Engineer II with Accounting Experience (Mexico) Join Sezzle in our mission to financially empower the next generation with an interest‑free installment plan. Salary : $2,800–$6,000 per month (gross in USD) Location : Mexico City, Mexico (on‑site) Type : Full‑time Seniority level : Mid‑Senior Job function : Engineering and Information Technology About the Role The Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain software solutions for financial processes. You will write clean code, document functionality, and participate fully in the software development lifecycle. What You’ll Do Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to enhance and maintain software solutions for financial processes. Participate in the full software development lifecycle. Build new features and improve existing ones. Leverage accounting background to identify gaps, automate processes, and improve reconciliation workflows. Evaluate and deploy software tools, processes, and metrics. Provide support and consultancy on software system usage. Ensure compliance with project plans and industry standards. What We Look For Prior experience as an accountant or financial analyst. Solid understanding of financial operations such as reconciliation, reporting, and compliance. Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, Go) and familiarity with database systems (MySQL or PostgreSQL). Experience with backend API development and relational database storage and retrieval. Familiarity with software engineering tools, development methodology, and release processes. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Computer Science, or related field.
