Together, we create impact and drive success**About the role**You will be working with one of our most valued clients, a mid-sized accounting firm based in Portland, Oregon.**What you'll do**- Maintain and update cash accounting records with no assistance.- Maintain and update accrual accounting records and files with little assistance.- Perform complex bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies with little assistance.- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including aged receivables.- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.- Conduct regular ledger reconciliations and audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and systems.- Provide guidance and training to Junior Staff Accountants.**Qualifications**- Associate's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.- 2-3 years of experience in bookkeeping or a similar accounting role in an accountingfirm.- Proven ability to handle more complex accounting tasks independently.Knowledge & Skills- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a high degree of empathy.- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.- Ability to explain complex financial concepts in a clear and understandable manner.- Fluency in the English language.- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.- Capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.- Proficient in the use of accounting software, especially QuickBooks Online and Xero.- Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
