**Qualifications**- Desire to work in a startup environment, able to self-manage and work remotely.- The commercial acumen to provide cost-effective security solutions- Proven working experience in security technologies implementation and support.- Working experience in security assurance.- Working knowledge of the general security landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies.- Expertise across a variety of security products including firewalls, URL filtering, information security and virus protection- Experience working in an agile development process.- An enthusiasm for staying up to date with the very latest updates about security threats and solutions- Be proficient in using version control tools, preferably Git.- Previous exposure to Linux and Windows Operating Systems, coding languages, and/or Networks- Outstanding communication skills that go beyond “tech talk” - the ability to translate complex IT matters to those without an IT background- Write clear, maintainable and testable code that you are proud of.- Good communication skills in English.**Responsibilities**- Follow the best practices while improving security capabilities and also keeping everything structured and well documented.- Analyse security systems and seek improvements on a continuous basis. Test company software, firmware, and firewalls.- Conducting proactive research to analyse security weaknesses and recommend appropriate strategies.- Define security guidelines and ensure are always followed.- Interact with the Operations Manager and the CTO to help understand end-user requirements and regulations.- Lead the showpad information security program. Implement and improve procedures and processes to optimize the information security program effectiveness and become ISO27001 compliant / CSA STAR certified.- Help development teams to maintain all the software in relation to security, report possible threats or software issues.- Identifying current and emerging technology issues including security trends, vulnerabilities, and threats.- Find cost-effective solutions to cybersecurity problems.- Assist fellow employees with cybersecurity, software, hardware or IT needs.- Threat intelligence.- Responsible for the Information Security Management System.**Must have**- +4 year of work experience as a System Security Engineer or Information Security Engineer.- +2 years experience in building and maintaining security systems.- +2 year hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc- +4 years of experience with Git to manage and collaborate in different projects with the rest of the team.- +3 years of experience on any major cloud provider, preferably Amazon Web Services.- Experience filling out security documents requested by third parties.**Good to have**- Basic experience in any major CI/CD tools to help automate security processes.- Software development background experience with any general purpose language like Java, Python, Javascript, Golang or any other.- Experience managing database systems applied from security standpoint, preferably MySQL and PostgreSQL.- Customers or vendors communication experience.
