This role is crucial for maintaining strong relationships with multiple strategic suppliers and ensuring they meet Carrier's requirements in terms of delivery, quality, and cost.**Key Responsibilities**:As a Category Manager, you’ll be responsible for:- Developing and executing a strategic plan for the fans and blower category.- Maintaining the overall relationship with multiple strategic suppliers for that specific commodity group.- Coordinating appropriately with the supplier quality team to resolve specific commodity issues, including relentless root cause analysis and error-proofing to mitigate impact on the business.- Leading in negotiating prices, assessing supplier capabilities, selecting new suppliers, narrowing the supplier base, and working with suppliers to establish mutually beneficial relationships and improve their ability to provide quality, cost-effective materials while minimizing inventory.- Ensuring the supplier or commodity team is performing to the designed Carrier requirements from delivery, quality, and cost perspectives.- Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or company policies, procedures, work rules, standards, and guidelines, etc.**Requirements**:- Bachelor’s Degree.- 5+ years of experience in category management and/or supply chain.- Master’s Degree in business management, engineering, or supply chain management.- Experience in electronics or electromechanical category management.- Experience with wire harnesses.- Strong negotiation skills.- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.- Cost reduction project leadership experience in a related environment.- Technical acumen/understanding of commodity management and the ability to quickly learn products and industry.- Ability to work effectively with cross-cultural suppliers on technical and logistics issues.- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and superior follow-up and follow-through skills.- Team player and influencing skills required to establish and sustain a lean culture.- Leading and engaging cross-functional teams.**Benefits**We are committed to offering competitive benefits programs for all of our employees and enhancing our programs when necessary.- Have peace of mind and body with our health insurance.- Drive forward your career through professional development opportunities.**Our commitment to you**Our greatest assets are the expertise, creativity, and passion of our employees.
