At the same time, we are committed to innovation and designing new products which are in keeping with our Maisons’ values, through a process of continuous creativity.- The Internal Controls Specialist supports our luxury brand and functional area management throughout the Company to ensure adequate design of business process and participates in critical activities of monitoring effectiveness of the underlying controls. This person will acquire a thorough understanding of our business and, where deficiencies are identified, partner with process owners to customize and implement viable remediation plans. The Internal Controls Specialist will, with management’s support, participate in the risk assessment activities and play an active role in developing risk mitigation strategies, related process documentation and policies & procedures.- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Develop a thorough understanding of our business, culture, and the underlying operational flows within our matrix organization, comprising the luxury product brands and the central service platform. Become an active contributor in developing value added and pragmatic recommendations that address process inefficiencies and control weaknesses.- Evaluate the design of internal controls and monitor control performance as part of the Richemont’s formal controls assessment and reporting program (Swiss SOX). Conduct periodic control framework walkthroughs with process owners and document changes to facilitate management’s annual self- assessments.- Execute testing of effectiveness of controls within the SOX scope. Promptly communicate identified deficiencies to management and work to develop strong partnership in collaboratively building remediation action plans.- Participate in the Regional Risk Assessment process to support the brand and platform management with the identification of key risks and development of mitigating strategies and activities. Execute process walkthroughs and control testing in the areas selected via the risk-based approach.- Participate in ad hoc operational and compliance reviews as requested by functional management. Identify opportunities to improve controls, compliance, and process efficiency.- Periodically monitor progress of deficiency remediation and follow up with the control owners when delays or deviations from the agreed action plans are identified. Perform remediation sustainability reviews related to completed corrective actions by testing controls effectiveness after a period of operation.- Maintain the control narrative and deficiency documentation as well as evidential support data in the Richemont’s global monitoring and reporting system.- Participate in the system user access and segregation of duties (SOD) review process. Take active role in the periodic user access analysis and work with process owners to mitigate the risk of unwarranted access and SOD conflict in SAP and other selected global systems. Collaborate with IT when organizational and business evolution requires new composite roles and system accesses.- Support management in the revision and creation of policies as well as documenting processes in flow charts, SOP’s, narratives, and matrices.- To a limited extent, participate in control performance within the area of product consignments.- The preceding Key Responsibilities statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by the people assigned to this job.
