Director of Operations

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented, ethical, responsible, and motivated Director of Operations for immediate employment in the Mexico City, Mexico office. The Director will be responsible for the overall direction of complex, high dollar volume, and manpower-intensive areas within the country. We are looking for somebody with the capacity to manage operational risks efficiently, possess a proactive attitude, be objectives-driven, and have strong leadership and communication skills.
Director of Operations
The Director of Operations is responsible for project results, supporting and leading the technical and operational management of the general operations in Mexico.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for supervisory and subordinate assignments, responsibilities, and utilization of resources within the organization.
Coordinates with supervisors in the execution of corporate programs, policies, and procedures.
Conducts staff meetings for the dissemination of pertinent information.
Coordinates project activities to meet client and project objectives.
Responsible for the status of ongoing work, risks, and projected completion dates.
Supports regional and business line managers in developing new clients and increasing market share.
Manages resources, executes and delivers projects for business units.
Leads the risk management process, reviews project progress, and ensures operational excellence.
Coordinates project staffing, tracks key milestones, and anticipates potential risks.
Reports internally on the status of operations, projects, HR, IT, and procurement.
Manages resources and supports areas across projects.
Develops, motivates, and mobilizes team leaders and staff.
Partners with Regional Business Line Leaders on Business Development.
Conducts project reviews and works closely with Sub-Region Executive and LATAM COO.
Addresses staff demographics and balances issues in hiring decisions.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture and Management or related field. 10+ years of Infrastructure Engineering consulting and/or large-scale construction projects experience. Operational leadership experience with a successful track record managing staff and P&L of $10M+. Strong financial administration and risk management skills. Excellent communications, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. Ability to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
15+ years of Engineering, Architecture, and Management consulting experience. Project Management Professional certification is a plus. Experience with a cross-section of infrastructure and building client markets. Bilingual in Spanish and English is required.
