Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.**Job Purpose**:The Large Power Systems Division, LPSD, has an opening for an Engineering Supervisor position within the Drivetrain team located in Monterrey, Mexico. This position is responsible for product design and supervision and technical direction to a group of engineers engaged in design, development or research activities related to drivetrain components/systems, to accomplish product maintenance and new product introduction objectives.**Job Duties**:Reporting to this position are design engineers located at the Cienega de Flores Campus.The supervision role accounts for up to 50% of this assignment. The remainder of the time, the incumbent acts as an individual contributor, bringing technical expertise and executing design projects.The incumbent will provide leadership and direction to design engineers that support the drivetrain components and axles lines; will provide coaching and technical guidance ensuring client velocity, quality and cost expectations are met, and set priorities based on business needs.This position will also lead engineers to complete objectives in the development of new components, design maintenance, field/quality issue resolution and supplier sourcing.In the product design role, this position also evaluates, defines, and resolves design and manufacturing problems in collaboration with the local quality and manufacturing teams and may travel to other manufacturing or field test locations to evaluate product improvement.This position requires excellent human relations, interpersonal, and communications skills. Ability to draw upon the role-based competencies of Managing Vision & Purpose, Motivating Others, Developing Others, and Listening. Ever increasing skills in the Caterpillar Leadership competencies.**Background/Experience**:Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or similar accredited Engineering,- 6+ years of engineering/product design related experience.- Experience working with global teams- Strong English language- Must have a good mechanical aptitude with ability to develop product concepts.- Requires strong leadership ability and excellent communications and interpersonal skills.- Technical and organizational skills are critical.**Desired Qualifications**:- Previous experience in Drivetrain components/systems design- Team management experience- Engineering Master’s Degree**The Caterpillar Code of Conduct states that we will select and place employees based on their qualifications for the job to be performed, without regard to race, religion, national origin, color, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or disability.
