Join our team Global Procurement manages and optimizes the third party spend of Thomson Reuters. Our mission is to partner with our stakeholders to acquire the right goods and services at best value and within an acceptable risk perimeter to drive our corporate objectives.

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Senior Manager, Business Services Procurement you will:

  • Support category plans and sourcing strategies development containing a portfolio of key initiatives across the company.
  • Deliver the key Procurement initiatives, achieving best value within acceptable risk.
  • Contribute to the development of the annual pipeline of Procurement initiatives, integrating with the financial planning process.
  • Contribute towards the development of initiatives aimed at optimizing cost, improving user experience, driving transparency / contract compliance and increasing efficiencies.
  • Rationalize the number of suppliers and reduce fragmentation in the spend base in order to simplify the supplier landscape and drive commercial efficiency.
  • Support the implementation and development of the sourcing methodology to provide greater visibility and control of sourcing initiatives.
  • Nurture relationships within Procurement and with customers through working collaboratively, understanding the requirements/priorities and providing advice in making spend decisions based on best-in-class practices.
  • Provide feedback to stakeholders and management regarding status of projects and initiatives.
  • Support/Lead the contracting process from drafting to execution by negotiating contracts through applying best in class practices and following the organization’s contracting guidelines to reduce risk.
  • Extend the reach of Procurement by exercising appropriate influence within project teams, customer groups, and peer groups.
  • Build, articulate and execute global Procurement roadmap for all categories in scope that builds the capabilities needed for long-term growth and sustainability.
  • Develop robust category/spend profiles to support the development of an opportunity pipeline across different sub-categories aligned with the developed roadmap.
  • Develop robust business cases for every sourcing initiative.
  • Develop robust implementation plans for every sourcing initiative.
  • Develop high-quality sourcing collateral at each stage of the sourcing lifecycle to facilitate informed decision-making amongst the stakeholder community.
  • Implement active risk management for each sourcing initiative to significantly reduce third party risks.
  • Demonstrate significant and sustainable annual reduction in Thomson Reuters cost-base using a robust savings methodology.
  • Rationalize supply base to drive spend with preferred suppliers.

About You

You’re a fit for the role if your background includes:

  • Credible knowledge and expertise across a wide range of Non-IT areas of spend, with significant experience in successfully developing and negotiating agreements within any value between $50K - $1M across geographies.
  • 7-10 years of applicable experience across the HR Services Procurement value chain, operations, program management and understanding of applicable laws / regulations.
  • Strong ability to understand business needs, historic spend, construct of existing contracts, and applicable buying practices.
  • Expert ability to understand the different cost drivers in the end-to-end value stream within Non-IT sub-categories.
  • Excellent relationship management and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Experienced sourcing practitioner, with deal architecture and negotiation skills.
  • Strong experience in the contracting process from drafting to execution.
  • Knowledge of the sourcing marketplace and trends in the industry.
  • Expert analytics and ability to develop coherent and high-quality sourcing collateral.
  • Experience with Source to Pay tools such as Ariba / Fieldglass.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English).
  • Experience of building strong relationships with senior business executives.
