We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon.As a BPA Manager R&D COEs supporting the R&D Finance Team, you will create value driving financial planning, reporting, and analysis activities within R&D Centers of Excellence (COEs) functions including, Software Development and Med Digital Solutions (SDMDS), Medical Safety, Medical Affairs and Project Management.This role will provide analytical support, intelligently challenge the status quo and simplify/standardize outcomes. The role is responsible for monthly variance analysis accompanying concise commentary, delivery of accurate Monthly business review/presentations, and assessment of risks and opportunities. During planning cycles, the role will consult with global line functions and franchises as appropriate, as well as collaborate with local business partners to ensure proper allocation of re-sources, Opex and CapEx expenses.In this role, a typical day will include:- Lead month end process for COE functions under scope, demonstrating business understanding, curiosity, and conveying explanations and actions in an effective manner.- Lead forecasting, annual budgeting, Strat Plan, and performance management processes.- Act as Finance liaison with COEs key functional leads, as well as partnering with the Alliances group to manage external collaborations, review and approval of new contract, capital, and purchase order requests.- Financial lead on CapEx process for SDMS with business counterpart- Ensure adequate accounting, reporting, and controlling systems are in place to reach adequate levels of forecast accuracy, to be able to timely identify and inform of potential risks and opportunities and to ensure delivery of productivity targets.- Disciplined use of financial systems (ASPIRE, APMR, SAP, etc.) to manage and perform analytical analysis of financial results.- Ownership and accountability of data integrity- Identify, prioritize, and lead process improvements to drive value creation.- Support Director of Finance on special projects and ad-hoc analysis, etc.WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:- BS degree (5+ years of experience); MS degree (2+ years of experience) on finance or related- 3-4 years of experience in FP&A.
