Fleet Utilization Analyst

The business's success is dependent in significant part on how well utilized our vans are - are they up and running every day, staffed by a groomer, with a groomer's schedule full with customer appointments? If our fleet is well utilized, the company will succeed. If the fleet is under-utilized, the company will struggle.The Fleet Utilization Analyst's goal is to maximize the fleet's utilization. The core metric we use to measure utilization is revenue per van per month. You will maximize the fleet's utilization by gathering a wide range of structured data and unstructured information from across the company, organizing and analyzing it, then reporting back out to the approriate individuals and teams things they can do to maximize our fleet's utilization.We do this internally now but responsibility for improving revenue per van is scattered across a number of teams, and there's no central clearinghouse for information about and analysis of the key drivers of revenue per van. You will become this central clearinghouseThis role is ideal for someone with a product management, category management, analytics, business intelligence, marketplace optimization and/or consulting background. The role is complex, requiring the ingestion of a wide variety of information (structured reports, raw data in various databases, conversations with team members, etc.), organizing that information, and reporting it back out in a structured way to relevant teams. This is a highly collaborative and cross-functional role so requires outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills. Come join the pack**Responsibilities**:You'll own driving revenue per van across the company:- Improve and institutionalize our current v1 van scheduling system.- Coordinate among our groomer managers, recruiting team, customer operations team, and General Managers to optimize van utilization.- Monitor and coordinate efficient van swaps among groomers when one groomer's shift ends and the next groomer's shift begins.- Pull data for and communicate to our recruiting team where to target hiring new groomers and on which shifts.- Review requests from groomers to change their shift schedules, analyze the implication of the change on our van utilization, and recommend to their managers whether to approve the shift change- Suggest improvements to van utilization to groomer managers and our General Managers- Ensure new groomer schedules are correct and properly set up in our groomer scheduling software- Run our weekly van utilization meeting with groomer managers and others- Test double shifts in one day for a single van (e.g. one groomer 7am-2pm, another groomer 2pm-8pm).- Automate the coordination of groomer schedules, van availability, and customers schedules to optimize this over time with no-code tools, off-the-shelf software, and/or internally built software.- Bonus: Help our analytics team build and improve our in-house analytics.- Communicate quickly and clearly on the relevant Slack channels; be responsive and attentive to your work; be proactive in suggesting improvement to fleet utilization; track your progress in team meeting agendas, 1:1 agendas, Asana or otherwise so people understand what you're working on.This function is mission critical for our business.
