Accounting Analyst

Location: El Salto PlantGoodyear Talent Acquisition Representative: SONIA NIETO**Primary Purpose of the Position**:Analyst reports directly to the Accounting Manager with regards to managing the activities related to ensure accurate and timely accounting records of the company's operations, primarily related to import purchases, travel expenses control in Concur sistem, bank and accounting reconciliations, as well as the control and recording of amortization advance payments, contributing to compliance with accounting policies and current tax regulations under SOX compliance and US GAAP and local GAAP. SAP imports reports, policy compliance.**Principle Duties and Responsibilities**:Accounting AnalystValidate that correctly record accounting transactions related to import purchases.- Control and account for travel expenses, verifying supporting documentation in accordance with internal policies. - Perform periodic bank reconciliations, ensuring proper integration with the accounting system.- Perform accounting account reconciliations, detecting and correcting discrepancies.- Control and record amortization of intangible assets and/or deferred charges in accordance with accounting policies.- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and accounting closings.- Coordinate with other areas (such as purchasing, treasury, accounts payable) to validate accounting information.- Comply with internal and external audit procedures, providing documentary support when required.- Propose improvements to accounting processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.- Hold periodic meetings with the logistics department to resolve SONDA issues.**Accounting Analyst Activities.**1. Accounting Transaction Recording: Correctly enter accounting transactions in SAP.2. Transaction Validation in SONDA: Correctly validate accounting transactions related to import purchases in SONDA.3. Weekly Meetings: Hold weekly follow-up meetings with the logistics department to resolve critical issues that arise in SONDA.4. Bank Reconciliations: Verify that accounting records match bank statements and resolve discrepancies.5. Accounting Account Analysis and Reconciliations: Review and analyze balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and consistency, in compliance with SOX, US GAAP, and local GAAP.6. SONDA Report Preparation: Prepare periodic reports analyzing the aging of folders and the provisions generated in SONDA.7. Travel Expense Control: Analyze associate travel expenses in the CONCUR system, validating the supporting documents and their correct accounting records and the VAT amount for possible reclassification.8. Internal and External Audits: Collaborate with auditors by providing documentation and explanations regarding accounting records.10. Accounting Process Automation and Improvement: Propose and participate in the implementation of improvements to accounting and financial processes.**Education**:- Required.' Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance.- Desired: Solid knowledge of Mexican accounting regulations (and/or IFRS, if applicable).**Experience**:A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in similar positions, intermediate-advanced handling of Excel, Strong analytical skills, able to understand complex data and issues with demonstrated ability to think outside the box. Knowledge of Mx GAAP’s and U.S. GAAP’s. Team working experience in previous jobs.**Knowledge**:Good communications skills are required to have good relationships with other related areas and to get issues solved promptly.- Organize and method habits are part of the success in this position.- Focus on the detail of the operations is fundamental to guarantee that the capital and expenses are segregated appropriately and so the budget control is accurate. - Demonstrates ethical and moral behavior, unquestionable integrity, and character.- Ability to support accounting decisions with logical evidence and persuasively present position and respective journal entries.- Innovative attitude oriented ("Thinking out of the box") with proved experiences.
