We are currently seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Lead Electrical Engineer with a focus on Motor Control PCB experience to join our team.**Description**:The Lead Electrical Engineer (Motor Control PCB) will work directly with the Research and Development Manager to lead the PCB, firmware, and enclosure design. As well as testing, and production of linear actuator control systems.The initial goal of the role is to design, prototype and get new control system designs in production. If successful, the role will immediately progress to leading the expansion and supervision of the electrical design team.**Primary Responsibilities**:- Design linear actuator control systems with position control. The primary challenge is to address electrical noise generated by the motors on the quadrature / digital position feedback. This must be resolved with hardware and firmware.- Design, prototype and lead sourcing and manufacturing of the control systems.- Integrate the following into control system design.- RF control- Wi-Fi- Thread Matter- Bluetooth- Controller Area Network / CANBUS / MODBUS compatibility- Design cost effective control systems for mass production. Select components based on availability and cost-effectiveness for local and overseas manufacturing.- Create systems and procedures for the purpose of ensuring the highest quality, knowledge retention and expansion of the team.- Once team expands, hire, train and supervise new team members.**Secondary Responsibilities**:- Reverse engineer and improve on legacy motor control PCBs.- Build test equipment and conduct in-house product stress testing.- Outline and supervise QC testing.- Produce technical datasheet, instruction manuals, and internal product education package.- Lead internal product education campaign.- Work with the Marketing team to research new products and launch products produced.- Identify, resolve, and document product issues based on customer feedback, prior product updates, and in-house testing.- Propose procedural and equipment improvements to increase efficiency and quality of work.**Required Skills and Experiences**:- Advanced knowledge and experience of motor controls and noise cancellation.- Minimum 8 years of experience in PCB design.- Minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or a similar field of study.- North American manufacturing standards and certifications.- Strong time management, communication, and leadership skills to work with independently, with our growing team and overseas.**Reasons you’ll love working here**:- Competitive salary package- In-office with opportunities for hybrid remote work- Vertical advancement opportunities- Opportunity to grow with a rapidly growing company.**Visit our websites to learn more about us**:- We thank all applicants in advance for their interest in working with Progressive Automations, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted._
