The Molding Operations Engineer develops robust molding processes and related documentation for the manufacture of plastic componentsGeneral Responsibilities- Oversee compliance of plastic injection molding area operations and respective transfers.- Provide support to the technical team for the solution of molding process problems (troubleshooting).- Develop work instructions, operations, reworks, draws, deviations, etc., all molding.- Define the area layout of the molding equipment.- Support and liaise with Design Engineering for any new process or product.- Participate in customer complaint analysis team for 8D Molding development.- Oversee mill room operation for regrind usage and disposition.- Participate in the launch or transfer of Molding products and manufacturing processes.- Manage projects to reduce costs, waste, scrap, defects, etc. in molding.- Develop cost savings optimization and continuous improvement projects in the molding area.- Coordinate the validation process of new models through scientific molding analysis.- Coordinate with Quality Engineering to evaluate discrepant molding material.- Quote and purchase parts and manufacturing materials for molds, presses and peripheral equipment.- Develop and document failure mode analysis.- Quote and purchase tooling for molding technicians.- Contributes in developing standardized work for key process operations.- Maintain up to date standardized work and report and take action to resolve non-compliance.- Execute in a timely manner the improvement projects assignedExperience / Qualifications- A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.- Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands- Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation- Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results- Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity- Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)- Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers- Effective communication skills to engage with customers, suppliers, or corporate personnel.- Ability to develop presentations to present work in projection. Root cause analysis- Works mostly walking, exposed to noise.
