Database Developer

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team and help design, build, and maintain the distributed database layer behind our OneSign virtual appliances. In this role, you will work on database architecture, replication, and system-level software that runs in both on-premise and cloud environments. You’ll tackle complex technical challenges involving Linux-based systems, distributed databases, replication, and multi-appliance deployments, all while collaborating within an Agile/Scrum environment. Your work will directly impact systems used by over 1 million users daily in healthcare and enterprise settings. What You’ll Do Design and deliver distributed database solutions, including replication, setup, configuration, and integration within virtual appliances. Develop and debug software that supports multi-node, distributed database architectures. Build and maintain database replication and management services for multi-appliance enterprise deployments. Write and maintain high-quality, production‑ready code designed for automation and testability. Develop unit and functional automated tests to ensure system reliability and performance. Work in a multi-threaded environment, diagnosing and resolving complex concurrency issues. Collaborate in an Agile/Scrum team to deliver features and improvements iteratively. Participate in troubleshooting and resolving customer escalations, especially related to database or replication issues. Analyze and remediate security vulnerabilities impacting the database or platform. What You Bring Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field. 5+ years of software development experience in a Linux environment. 5+ years of experience designing, configuring, or developing distributed database systems. Strong hands‑on experience with Python, Perl, shell scripting, and PHP. Solid understanding of Linux internals and system-level development. Experience working with PostgreSQL and Oracle databases. Strong understanding of distributed database concepts, including replication and fault tolerance. Knowledge of ACID principles and transactional database behavior. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure. Strong system design skills and the ability to operate in fast-paced, high‑expectation environments. Experience across the full software development lifecycle, from design to production. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Nice to Have Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment. Familiarity with Oracle Database, Oracle GoldenGate, or YugabyteDB.
