We are hiring an** Accounting Analyst** who will be responsible for part of the general accounting function at the Steelcase-owned sales office in Mexico City. You will report directly to the Accounting Manager of Steelcase de Mexico and oversee various control, accounting, compliance, finance and cost areas.This role is pivotal in in the closing and reporting process and will work with the team to prepare financial statements for both Mexico and US GAAP ledgers.**Helping Our People Thrive - wellbeing ensures our employees feel seen, heard and valued**- Steelcase offers **competitive wages and benefits**, to support your life in and out of work- ** Hybrid work schedule** means you have a say in where you work whether that is in the office, at home, or somewhere in between- Learning is the foundation of everything we do, and there is no shortage of **development opportunities** to grow and upskill- ** Culture is a lifestyle** at Steelcase and we live it every day- Opportunity to** make an impact** on the world through Steelcase’s **commitment to people and planet.****Supporting Meaningful Work - work brings deeper motivation, purpose and fulfillment to our lives**- Primarily in charge of the accounting for day-to-day operations.- Responsible for managing and maintaining the accounting records of finished goods inventory.- In charge of providing updated information on sales costs for different areas of the company.- Tasked with keeping intercompany operations up to date, as well as performing the reconciliation of accounting entries for this segment.- Executes various controls in relevant areas including quarterly physical counts and account reconciliations monthly.- Journalizing and reconciling accruals and key provisions for general balance sheet.- Supports the process of proper expense classification according to invoiced concepts.- Provides general accounting support for prepaid expenses, deposits in guarantee, restricted cash and others.- Participates in month-end close for corporate reporting and statutory financial statements.- Assists the Accounting Manager in various ad-hoc projects to improve automation, efficiency, and standardization among México entities.**Minimum Qualifications**- Bachelor's degree in accounting required.- Minimum of 3 years of applicable work experience.- Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP-system preferred.- Sufficient knowledge and proficiency in Excel tool.- Evidence of ability to speak and write in English.**Desired Skills and Experience**- Experience working with U.S.based companies (preferably public)- Have worked in commercial companies and have proven experience making accounting and financial analysis.**Doing better for people and planet - when we do better, we help the world work better**- Steelcase is a global design and thought leader in the world of work.
