Our brand in Mexico is CAMESA, and the Company is ACEROS CAMESA.The Product Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and improving products, ensuring they meet customer needs, industry standards, and company goals. This role involves collaborating with design, manufacturing, and quality teams throughout the product lifecycle, from concept to production. The Product Engineer conducts feasibility studies, oversees prototype testing, and resolves technical issues, while also refining production processes to enhance product quality. Additionally, the Product Engineer ensures regulatory compliance and continuously seeks opportunities for innovation, cost reduction, and performance improvement. Strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and effective teamwork are essential for success in this role.The Product Engineer must exhibit and proactively motivate others in the behaviors of the WireCo Business System (WBS):- Teamwork - welcomes an environment of inclusiveness and healthy debate that reflects our team’s strength- Accountable - celebrates our successes, learn from failures, avoid excuses, and own the outcomes of our efforts- Self-Aware - demonstrates an understanding of our strengths and needs, considering how our actions impact others- Noble Intent - acts in the interests of others, approaching our work with integrity to ensure the best outcome- Determined - takes initiative, share ideas and find solutions to win and achieve our goals- Transparent - promotes open and honest communication and constructive feedback for clarity and truth- Curious - seeks knowledge and outside input to test our way of thinking, challenging the status quo**Duties & Responsibilities**- Design of tooling and auxiliary equipment for process and product development- Propose operating parameters for new developments- Update and review documents established in the Quality Management System- Coordinate interdisciplinary efforts for new product development- Define when required and conduct validation tests on product characteristics- Document the stages of new product development- Comply with policies, procedures, and the Quality Management System- Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures- Analyze product performance and recommend design modifications to improve efficiency and reduce costs- Provide technical support to the production team to troubleshoot and resolve product-related issues during manufacturing**Supervisory Responsibility**- Provide guidance and technical support to junior engineers, technicians, and other team members- Coordinate efforts across departments to ensure successful project execution and adherence to timelines- Oversee specific engineering tasks, ensuring compliance with product goals, quality standards, and company policies**Qualifications** Required Qualifications**- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in product development, manufacturing processes, or engineering design- Experience with Quality Management Systems (ISO standards or equivalent) and safety regulations- Strong problem-solving abilities, with excellent written and verbal communication skills- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment, with occasional travel as needed**Preferred Qualifications**- Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field- Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) software and advanced manufacturing techniques (e.g., lean manufacturing, Six Sigma)- Knowledge of advanced materials and emerging technologies in product development**Additional Information** Materials and Equipment Directly Used**- Standard office equipment such as computers, mice, keyboards, telephones, and multifunction copiers.- Personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toed safety shoes.- Shipping and logistics software systems for managing transportation schedules, generating shipping documents, and tracking shipments.**Additional Information**- Must be legally authorized to work in Mexico without restrictions.- Applicants must undergo a satisfactory background check post-offer of employment.
