Accounting and Tax Sr. Associate

The role will include collaborating with the affiliate operations finance team, the regional/corporate accounting team, as well as personnel from consulting firms providing outsourced financial reporting and tax services. The Accounting & Tax Associate will assume the stewardship of key accounting processes (O2C, S2P, R2R) for the acquired business, acting as the point of contact for the business process outsourcer, performing monthly closing entries, supporting outside statutory and tax service providers, preparing and supporting internal and external audits, as well as working capital management. These responsibilities will be performed in close alignment with the Mexico CFO and the Mexico Accounting & Tax Manager for the Elanco business.**Accounting & General**- Provide local stewardship for accounting and tax processes, based on Elanco policies and processes.- Support local legal entity accounting related to the tax and accounting.- Provide accounting guidance to the local business partners (from the FP&A and controlling teams) on the treatment of transactions that arise during the period.- Support monthly closing entries by working closely with the business partners to determine what, if any, activities occurred during the month that require manual journal entries.- Work with the business process outsource team (responsible for the transaction accounting for O2C, P2P, product costing and R2R) to answer questions, elevate issues, etc.- Support all local legal entity transformation activities as directed by Corporate Tax team and by the third-party Tax Partner.- Evolve into the lo- Participate in any data migration and/or management activities, related to financial accounting processes, in preparation for the integration of IT systems at the time of full IT integration.**Controls**- Demonstrate a strong compliance-oriented mindset & help to build a strong compliance culture.- Awareness of all applicable financial/taxation standards, process documentation & training materials to ensure compliant execution of daily operations.- Ensure ownership for all applicable financial reporting and operational controls as well as broader oversight for all controls that influence the financial statements.- Engage with External/Internal Audit/Taxation authorities to ensure full ownership and excellence in all Group/Statutory/Internal/Taxation/Regulatory audits.**Tax**- Support local tax compliance activities and management of associated of payments as coordinated with corporate tax and with third party tax providers.- Support the provision of information to third party providers to assist in the preparation and filing of withholding tax and customs reporting.**Treasury**- Support cash flow forecasts.- Review and validate monthly FX forecast.Support Elanco’s development of working capital reporting and assist the business in establishing its working capital management rhythm.**Calificaciones técnicas y de competencias requeridas (educación, experiência y/o entrenamiento, certificaciones)**:- Bachelors Degree (or similar) in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent work experience- Proven analytical, problem solving, and communication skills- Proven compliance orientation based on prior operational business roles- Ability to work in local/regional/global team environment and communicate effectively with both internal business partners of all levels & disciplines as well as external stakeholders such as auditors and tax authorities- Fluency in English language**Preferencias adicionales**:- Chartered accountant, CPA or equivalent preferred- Accounting, SOX and tax experience in Multinational Companies- Knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRSElanco is an EEO/Affirmative Action Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, protected veteran status, disability or any other legally protected status
